InterBalance release notes

Every InterBalance version, newest first.

0.4.10

22 October 2026

The footer shows InterBalance's own logo. The interwebbi.com logo at the foot of the panel is now InterBalance's lockup: the Interwebbi plug-ins' knob mark and the name beside it.

  • Nothing you hear changed: no control, no default and no sound is different, and your projects and presets open as before.

0.4.9

22 October 2026

The first update to 0.4.7: the loudness reading can now show the whole programme, as a delivery spec measures it. 0.4.8 was not published, so everything below is new since 0.4.7.

  • INTEGRATED, a click away. Click the loudness reading to switch between SHORT-TERM (the last 3 seconds) and INTEGRATED: the whole programme since the last reset, measured as EBU R128 and broadcast delivery specs measure it. The label shows how long it has been measuring. Within 1 LU of the target it reads white, further away amber.
  • Double-click to reset integrated loudness and the true-peak hold.
  • TRUE PEAK since the reset: while INTEGRATED is shown, TRUE PEAK is the highest of the whole programme, so a spec's "at most -1 dBTP" can be checked at a glance. It now measures with the window closed too.
  • The view is saved with the session; loading a preset leaves it as it is.
  • Nothing you hear changed. Projects saved with 0.4.7 open as they were, on SHORT-TERM.

0.4.7

21 October 2026

Four bands, a correction that leaves an empty band alone, and readings that hold still. 0.4.4, 0.4.5 and 0.4.6 were test builds and were not published.

  • Four bands: MID is now LO-MID and HI-MID. The crossovers start at 200 Hz, 2 kHz and 6 kHz, all three draggable. Each band reads and corrects on its own, so the mids are no longer the band that always reads 0.0 between LOW and HIGH. The old MID knob is LO-MID.
  • CORRECT leaves a band alone when it has nothing in it. In a breakdown without kick drum or bass, or a song that never had them, LOW is held where it was instead of being boosted toward the target; the same for the highs. The band's reading dims and shows HELD. TILT goes on from the bands that remain, and when the bass returns its correction is already right.
  • The readings no longer jump. TILT and the bands are read from a reference that moves smoothly with the music, so every number changes gradually instead of switching, often from minus to plus, whenever two bands passed each other.
  • The white line, the detail and the output are levelled by the whole mix's energy, so the lines hold still.
  • The legend shows OUTPUT and CORRECTION as soon as CORRECT is switched on.

0.4.3

19 October 2026

The first release of InterBalance: how your mix's loudness and tonal balance compare with a target, and a broad, slow correction toward it. For a bus or the master, live and in the studio, with zero latency.

  • SHORT-TERM loudness of the last three seconds (EBU R128) against a target of -14, -16 or -23 LUFS or your own, white within 2 LU and amber further away. TRUE PEAK of the same three seconds, red above -1 dBTP.
  • The spectrum against a target, with TILT, LOW, MID and HIGH saying how far the mix is from it, and two crossover tabs to move where LOW ends and HIGH begins.
  • Targets: Balanced, and Dance, Metal, Pop, Rock and Schlager, each measured from released tracks. Learn one from the input or from a WAV, AIFF, MP3 or FLAC file, and save your own.
  • CORRECT, off until you switch it on: a tilt, a low shelf, a high shelf and one wide mid bell, never more than 6 dB, with an amount for each and a SPEED. FREEZE holds the correction where you are happy with it.
  • A true bypass, and a render faster than real time that sounds the same as playback.
  • It works fully for 14 days from the first time it runs on a computer, with no key. After that its output is silent until a licence key is activated. A key works on two computers, and a Suite key covers InterBalance as well.
