Support
Installing, activating and uninstalling, on macOS and Windows, and the problems people actually run into.
User guides: every control, plug-in by plug-in
Installing
macOS
Run the installer and choose the formats your hosts use. It puts the VST3 in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 and the Audio Unit in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components.
The installers are signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised, so macOS opens them without a warning.
Windows
Run the installer. It puts the VST3 in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, where every VST3 host looks.
Install one copy only: use either the Suite or a plug-in's own installer, not both.
Activating
Every plug-in works fully for 14 days without a key. To activate a licence, open the plug-in's menu (☰), choose Enter licence key…, paste the key and press Return. Activating needs the internet once; after that the plug-in works offline, on stage or anywhere else.
A key works on two computers. To move it, choose Deactivate this computer… in the menu first, or free the seat with Manage licences in Polar…. Activate before a show: when a trial ends, the output goes silent at once.
Uninstalling
macOS
Use the InterPlugins Uninstaller: it lists the plug-ins installed on your Mac and removes the ones you tick. Or delete the plug-in's .vst3 and .component from the two folders above.
Windows
Uninstall it from Settings, Apps, as any other program.
Uninstalling keeps your presets and your licence, so a reinstall finds them. On macOS they are in ~/Library/Application Support, on Windows in %LOCALAPPDATA%: the presets in the plug-in's own folder, the licence in Interwebbi. Delete those folders too to remove everything.
Problems
Windows warns before running the installer
The Windows installers are not code-signed yet, so Windows may stop and ask before running one. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Logic Pro does not show the plug-in
Logic loads Audio Units only, so the Audio Unit has to be installed. If it is and the plug-in still does not appear, open Logic's Plug-in Manager and rescan it.
An Audio Unit installed by hand never appears
A symlinked Audio Unit is never found: macOS does not follow the link, and there is no error. Use the installer, or copy the bundle itself into the Components folder.
The host does not see the VST3
Check that the host scans the VST3 folder above, then have it rescan its plug-ins.
InterStream's feeds reach no one
The first time InterStream sends, macOS asks whether your host may find devices on the local network. If that was refused, turn it on in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network, for your host, then restart the host. As a listener, InterStream also waits for connections, so the firewall on the Mac or the PC may ask to allow them: allow it.
