InterMic release notes

Every InterMic version, newest first.

0.12.6

22 October 2026

The footer shows InterMic's own logo. The interwebbi.com logo at the foot of the panel is now InterMic's lockup: the Interwebbi plug-ins' knob mark and the name beside it.

  • Nothing you hear changed: no control, no default and no sound is different, and your projects and presets open as before.

0.12.5

19 October 2026

A new version shows up the same day it comes out.

  • InterMic now looks for a new version whenever you load a project that has it, or insert it on a track: at most once in ten minutes, for every Interwebbi plug-in on the computer together. A project with forty instances still asks only once.
  • As before it only shows the orange chip in the header, and never installs anything. The menu item that turns it off is now called Check for updates.
  • Projects and presets are safe: no parameter changed and the sound is identical to 0.12.4.

0.12.4

19 October 2026

A way to force a mono source to one channel, and a rider target you can see while singing.

  • The ☰ menu now starts with Input: auto, as before and the default, and Input: left channel only, which processes the left channel and sends the result to both. A mono source that reaches InterMic as two channels that are not quite the same no longer sounds robotic on a send. The footer says left channel only. It is set per instance and saved with the project.
  • The rider's target band is drawn over the input level instead of behind it, and the level inside the band is shaded darker, so you can see whether the voice is in the target, under it or over it.
  • Changing the colour or the input from the ☰ menu now tells the host that the project has changed.
  • With the input on auto the sound is identical to 0.12.3. A project or preset saved with 0.12.4 opens at default settings in an older version, so keep a copy from before if you might go back.

0.12.3

19 October 2026

Less CPU on stereo tracks that carry a mono source, and a trial you cannot miss.

  • While the two channels of a stereo track are identical, InterMic processes one and copies the result to the other. The sound is the same, bit for bit. With de-bleed or de-feedback on, it uses about 5% less CPU on Windows and 13% less on a Mac. The footer says mono path or stereo.
  • While the trial runs, the first plug-in window you open each day, of InterMic or any other Interwebbi plug-in, shows a card with the days left, and buttons to buy a licence, enter a key or continue the trial. Once the trial has ended the card stays, without the button to continue. A licensed copy never shows it.
  • Projects and presets are safe: no parameter changed and the sound is identical.

0.12.2

18 October 2026

Nothing changed in InterMic since 0.12.1. This release is there to prove the update notice that 0.12.1 brought.

  • With 0.12.1 installed, the header shows an orange 0.12.2 AVAILABLE chip within a day of this release. Clicking it opens InterMic's page at its downloads.
  • The code, the parameters and the audio path are exactly those of 0.12.1, so installing it is optional.

0.12.1

18 October 2026

InterMic now tells you when a newer version is out. Everything else is as it was in 0.12.0.

  • An orange chip, such as 0.12.2 AVAILABLE, appears in the header beside ACTIVE when a newer InterMic has been released. Click it to open InterMic's page at its downloads.
  • InterMic never downloads or installs anything by itself, so it cannot change under you mid-show. You install the update when it suits you.
  • It asks once a day, for every Interwebbi plug-in on the computer together. The request carries nothing about you or your computer, and if it gets no answer, nothing happens.
  • Check for updates daily, in the settings menu (☰ on the preset bar), turns it off for every Interwebbi plug-in on the computer at once. In a sandboxed host with no network access it does not ask at all.
  • Projects and presets are safe: no parameter changed and the audio path is the same.

0.12.0

17 October 2026

InterMic now needs a licence key, after a 14-day trial.

  • It works fully for 14 days from the first time it runs on a computer, with no key and no sign-up. After that its output is silent until a licence key is activated, and its window says the trial is over, with a button to buy one.
  • Activating needs the internet once: choose Enter licence key… in the menu (☰), paste the key and press Return. After that InterMic needs no network at all.
  • A key works on two computers. Deactivate this computer… in the menu, or Manage licences in Polar…, frees a seat.
  • Activate before a show, not during one: when the trial ends the output goes silent at that moment, even in a running session. Updating starts the trial on that computer; projects and presets are unaffected.

0.11.8

17 October 2026

De-bleed keeps more of the voice while you sing.

  • The per-frequency de-bleed now follows the signal in 50 milliseconds instead of 200. Over four live takes it keeps about 1 dB more of the chest register (85 to 200 Hz) with the same bleed removed there; overall bleed removal is unchanged.
  • 50 ms was chosen by ear, after listening at 200, 100, 50 and 25 ms.
  • No parameter changed, but anything mixed with de-bleed turned up will sound slightly different, so give it a listen. ECO reacts faster too.

0.11.7

16 October 2026

Three fixes to how presets behave, all reported by using them.

  • A preset now restores the window size.
  • The preset name gains a star when you have changed something.
  • The resize corner is back on the window.

0.11.6

16 October 2026

Presets are exact now. A preset saves and restores the whole plug-in, not just its knobs.

0.11.5

16 October 2026

InterMic now comes as an Audio Unit as well, so Logic Pro can see it.

  • Installing by hand: a symlinked Audio Unit is never found, so copy the bundle.

0.11.4

16 October 2026

InterMic runs on Intel Macs again. Until now the macOS build was Apple silicon only.
