InterTone release notes

Every InterTone version, newest first.

0.9.14

22 October 2026

The footer shows InterTone's own logo. The interwebbi.com logo at the foot of the panel is now InterTone's lockup: the Interwebbi plug-ins' knob mark and the name beside it.

  • Nothing you hear changed: no control, no default and no sound is different, and your projects and presets open as before.

0.9.13

19 October 2026

Type any value, a trial you cannot miss, and a new version shown the same day.

  • Every value InterTone shows can be typed: the six knob values, the HP and LP frequencies, a region handle's offset, and a pre-EQ node's frequency, gain and Q, in its right-click card. The unit is optional, a comma works as a decimal point, and 1.2k means 1.2 kHz. The range tabs and the threshold wedge stay drag only.
  • While the trial runs, the first plug-in window you open each day, of InterTone or any other Interwebbi plug-in, shows a card with the days left, and buttons to buy a licence, enter a key or continue the trial. Once the trial has ended the card stays, without the button to continue. A licensed copy never shows it.
  • InterTone now looks for a new version whenever you load a project that has it, or insert it on a track: at most once in ten minutes, for every Interwebbi plug-in on the computer together. A project with forty instances still asks only once.
  • As before it only shows the orange chip in the header, and never installs anything. The menu item that turns it off is now called Check for updates.
  • Projects and presets are safe: no parameter changed and the sound is identical to 0.9.12.

0.9.12

18 October 2026

Nothing changed in InterTone since 0.9.11. This release is there to prove the update notice that 0.9.11 brought.

  • With 0.9.11 installed, the header shows an orange 0.9.12 AVAILABLE chip within a day of this release. Clicking it opens InterTone's page at its downloads.
  • The code, the parameters and the audio path are exactly those of 0.9.11, so installing it is optional.

0.9.11

18 October 2026

InterTone now tells you when a newer version is out. Everything else is as it was in 0.9.9. There was no public 0.9.10.

  • An orange chip, such as 0.9.12 AVAILABLE, appears in the header beside ACTIVE when a newer InterTone has been released. Click it to open InterTone's page at its downloads.
  • InterTone never downloads or installs anything by itself, so it cannot change under you mid-show. You install the update when it suits you.
  • It asks once a day, for every Interwebbi plug-in on the computer together. The request carries nothing about you or your computer, and if it gets no answer, nothing happens.
  • Check for updates daily, in the settings menu (☰ on the preset bar), turns it off for every Interwebbi plug-in on the computer at once. In a sandboxed host with no network access it does not ask at all.
  • Projects and presets are safe: no parameter changed and the audio path is the same.

0.9.9

17 October 2026

InterTone now needs a licence, after a 14-day trial. Everything else is as it was in 0.9.8.

  • 14 days free from the first time you open it; the settings menu shows the days left. After the trial the output is muted until a licence key is entered, and a card over the panel says so, with buttons to buy a licence and to enter a key.
  • Activating needs the internet once. After that InterTone works offline; it checks in about once a day when it can, and no answer never switches it off.
  • Deactivate this computer… in the settings menu frees the seat, for moving to another machine.
  • Projects and presets are safe: no parameter changed and the audio path is the same.

0.9.8

17 October 2026

A pre-EQ: a four-node parametric EQ ahead of the matching. Shape the voice first, then let InterTone hold it to the target.

  • MATCH / PRE-EQ at the top of the display chooses what you edit. Nodes 1 and 4 can be shelves or bells; nodes 2 and 3 are bells, each ±18 dB.
  • The matching hears the pre-EQ and leaves half of it alone, so a pre-EQ move stays in part even at a high Amount.
  • Double-click a region handle to reset it; shift-click switches it on or off. A double-click used to switch it.
  • Older sessions open with the pre-EQ flat and sound exactly as before.

0.9.7

16 October 2026

Two preset fixes. No preset can quietly replace another any more.

  • Names that differ only in characters a file name cannot hold, such as Lead a/b and Lead a:b, now save as two presets instead of one replacing the other.
  • The star after a changed preset's name appears as soon as you change something, and clears when you save.

0.9.6

16 October 2026

InterTone now comes as an Audio Unit as well, so Logic Pro can see it. Nothing about the sound changed.

  • Your host treats the Audio Unit as a different plug-in from the VST3, so a project moved across needs setting up again. Presets carry over.
  • Installing by hand: a symlinked Audio Unit is never found, so copy the bundle.

0.9.5

16 October 2026

A processing range: tell InterTone where to work, and it leaves the rest alone.

  • Drag the two tabs at the foot of the display inward. Outside the range the sound is untouched, and the correction fades out over a third of an octave past each edge.
  • LEARN and saved targets still keep the whole curve, so widening the range later needs nothing relearned.
  • Sessions from 0.9.4 and earlier open with the range off, so they sound as they did.

0.9.4

16 October 2026

The regions reach further. Boosting or cutting LOW, BODY, PRESENCE or AIR now does what the handle says, without the rest of the sound moving the other way.

  • The regions go to ±18 dB, up from ±12.
  • Auto gain is gone. Use OUTPUT to set the level; a session saved with auto gain on can now play at a different level.
