InterVerb release notes

Every InterVerb version, newest first.

1.1.0

5 November 2026

The reverb, made visible.

  • A spectrum of the reverb in the TAIL / EQ display. While sound plays, the reverb's output shows as a slow, smooth line behind the EQ curve, with the moment just gone trailing behind it and fading. It shows the reverb after the EQ and DUCK, before MIX, and fades away when the reverb falls silent.
  • The spectrum is drawn only while the panel is open, so a closed panel costs nothing.
  • The tail's lines are drawn in a darker green, so the spectrum and the EQ curve stand out from them.

1.0.1

A fix for rendering.

  • A render or bounce that runs faster than real time now keeps the whole reverb tail. In 1.0.0, short pieces of the tail could go missing in a fast offline render, most often at small block sizes. Playing live was never affected.

1.0.0

5 November 2026

The first release of InterVerb: a low-CPU reverb for vocals and instruments, live and in the studio.

  • Four models of reverb: Plate, Hall and Room, three of each, and Special, whose first is Fresh air, an open, airy reverb for vocals. Each is our own, built to sound like a classic of its kind, and chosen by ear.
  • Zero latency. The dry signal passes on time; only the reverb follows it.
  • Low on CPU, so it can sit on a track or an aux return in a live set.
  • TAIL: DECAY from 0.1 to 16 seconds and PRE-DELAY up to 250 ms, both in time with the host with SYNC (DECAY from an eighth note to four bars). Turning DECAY changes the length of the tail already ringing, smoothly; switching variants lets the old tail ring out.
  • EQ on the reverb: a low shelf, a mid band with its Q, and a high shelf, ±12 dB, set by dragging their nodes in the display or with the knobs.
  • SPACE: WIDTH on the reverb; DUCK, to keep the reverb down while you sing or play, with its RELEASE; and MIX.
  • OUTPUT, the small knob in the footer: the output level, -24 to +24 dB. ACTIVE off bypasses it too, so you can compare levels fairly.
  • The display draws the reverb's tail and the EQ together, as you turn the knobs.
  • VST3 and Audio Unit for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), and VST3 for Windows (64-bit). Mono, mono to stereo, and stereo.
